身為猶太幫(Kosher Nostra) 的成員之一，現年53 歲，俄裔美籍小提琴兼中提琴家、指揮家的明茲；11 歲登台和以色列愛樂演出協奏曲，之後代替大師帕爾曼演出帕格尼尼協奏曲，16 歲在美國紐約卡內基音樂廳演出，師承小提琴教母桃樂絲．狄蕾，也受到大師史坦的大力提攜。從俄國、以色列到美國，征服二十世紀的世界音樂舞台，成就今日的地位。
他是當今世界小提琴界的真正大師，爐火純青的完美演出，精細無瑕的音色，每每讓觀眾讚嘆不已。他的足跡踏遍世界重要的舞台，音樂傳送至許多國家；明茲也不斷挑戰極限，一次一次撼動樂壇。他灌錄了大量音樂唱片，作品並被列入「世界最佳錄音」的行列。
明茲這次親臨台灣，將一人分飾二角，同時擔任指揮和小提琴獨奏，與北市交一同帶來莫札特、布魯赫與布拉姆斯的三套經典曲目。想聽一顆原鑽的聲音，請前來朝聖；想發掘小提琴家的王道，請前來取經；明茲的聲音王道，一定將你徹底征服。

Shlomo Mintz, 53, is a member of Kosher Nostra and a Russian-American violinist, violist and conductor. He began his career as a soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 11 and soon substituted for Itzhak Perlman to play Paganini's first Violin Concerto, and made his Carnegie Hall debut at 16. He studied under virtuoso violinist Dorothy DeLay while the great Isaac Stern was also his mentor. He shined on the international musical stage from Russia, Israel to the United States to achieve his outstanding status today.
He is a top contemporary violinist with impeccable technique that delivers exquisite and flawless music to amaze the audience. He performs on top concert halls around the world and spreads his music to many countries. Mintz constantly challenges his limits and surprises the musical world over and over again. He maintains an active recording schedule as a soloist and a conductor, and his work is included in "The World's Finest Recordings."
This time Mintz will serve the dual role of a conductor and a violin soloist to team up with TSO to present three classical works by Mozart, Bruch and Brahms. If you wish to listen to the music of a virtuoso and discover the mastery of violin, Mintz will sweep you off your feet.
